Blind date on Valentine's Day for two Seattle octopuses

The two had a successful first date, according to the aquarium.

SEATTLE — The Seattle Aquarium held an Octopus ‘blind date’ on Valentine’s Day this year.

The two giant Pacific octopuses – with six combined hearts (three each!) – were set to meet in the early afternoon on Saturday.

The aquarium set the mood 'with decorative hearts, roses, and romantic music' nearby the exhibit, according to their website.

Afterward, the aquarium announced the two octopuses had a successful first date!

‘Franklin was a little shy in the beginning, but in the end Hazel fell for his charm,’ wrote the Seattle Aquarium over Facebook.
