The Washington State Patrol says a London cyclist was injured when he was struck by an SUV south of Forks on the Olympic Peninsula.
The patrol says 25-year-old Oliver Arnott was taken to a local hospital in Forks following Sunday morning's crash.
KBKW-AM in Aberdeen reports Arnott was just days into a planned 5,500-mile bike ride from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Panama when he was hit Sunday morning. He was later transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle
Troopers say the cyclist was heading southbound on U.S. Highway 101 when he was struck by a Dodge Durango driving in the same direction.
The 72-year-old SUV driver and his passenger were not injured.
The cause of the collision is being investigated.
