RENTON, Wash. — A woman in her mid-60s was taken to a nearby hospital Saturday after a fire at home in Renton.
Renton fire officials said the woman is in critical condition.
Fire crews were called after 3 p.m. and found a woman inside the home located in the 14300 block of 177th Avenue Southeast. CPR was performed on the woman.
Firefighters said they initially had a challenge getting inside of the home and went through the back because they couldn't get the front door open, which delayed putting out the fire.
The woman was the only one inside and neighbors said she has mobility issues.
Officials said the fire was on the second floor and was kept from spreading.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
