SEATTLE — Rainier Avenue South at South Frontenac St. in South Seattle is shut down after a car hit a power pole.
The crash happened shortly after 4 a.m. Wednesday.

The impact of the crash broke the pole. The bottom half of it slammed down onto a car. The top half of the pole remains attached to power lines and is hanging in the air.
A Seattle City Light crew is headed to the scene.
The car that hit the pole was destroyed and was towed from the scene.
King County Metro routes 7 and 9 have been rerouted off Rainier Avenue South between South Graham Street and South Othello Street.
