SEATTLE — An off-duty Seattle police officer who was driving their own car was involved in a collision with another vehicle near a group of protesters, police said.
At about 12:01 a.m. Saturday, on-duty officers were called to Boren Avenue and Olive Way to investigate.
Investigators said the off-duty officer reported that they were attempting to drive through an opening in a crowd of protesters when their vehicle was surrounded. Another vehicle then struck the off-duty officer’s car.
No injuries were reported.
The crash was referred to the Office of Police Accountability for review.
The crash is not related to a crash involving two protesters who were struck by a driver on I-5.
