Crash results in fatality along Skagit-Whatcom County line

SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. — A two-car collision resulted in a fatality Saturday around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

The crash occurred along northbound I-5 near the Skagit-Whatcom County line. Sgt. Mark Francis said the one driver left the roadway and struck an abandoned vehicle on the shoulder.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt, Francis said.

The onramp from Nulle Road was blocked for an estimated 2-3 hours during the investigation.
