KENT, Wash. — A two-alarm fire displaced a family of five Thursday evening in Kent.
Puget Sound fire crews, along with Mountain View Fire and Rescue crews were called about 5:50 p.m. to the 15000 block of Southeast 274 Place.
As crews made their way to the fire, they reported seeing a large thermal column of heat and smoke from several blocks away, officials said.
Officials said once crews arrived at the scene, they found a double-wide mobile home engulfed in flames.
No one living at the home was injured, but a cat died in the fire and a dog was unaccounted for, fire officials said.
Officials said the fire also spread to a home next door, causing minor damage.
A firefighter suffered a burn to his hand and was taken to the hospital, fire crews said.
Crews were able to put out the fire in 30 minutes.
Fire officials said they could not determine at this time if there were working smoke alarms in the home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
