MINNEAPOLIS — In just his second season as the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Doug Pederson is a Super Bowl Champion.
In an offensive shootout against the favored New England Patriots, Pederson’s Eagles won 41-33 Sunday to win their first Super Bowl in franchise history.
Super Bowl MVP quarterback Nick Foles threw for 373 yards and three touchdowns in the win, and afterwards had strong praise for his head coach.
"I felt calm," Foles said. "We have such a great group of guys, such a great coaching staff. I felt confident coming in. We've dreamed about this moment".
Head Coach Doug Pederson has strong ties to the Pacific Northwest as he was born in Bellingham, Wash. and played high school football at Ferndale High School in Ferndale, Wash.
Congrats to Ferndale’s Doug Pederson on a hard fought victory for the @Eagles - now I can return to rooting for the @Seahawks.

Reid then became the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013 and reunited with Pederson, who served as his offensive coordinator for three seasons.
On January 18, 2016, Pederson was hired as coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, replacing former University of Oregon coach Chip Kelly.
Pederson finished his playing career with 12 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. As a head coach, Pederson now has a 23-12 record.
Pederson is the first NFL head coach born in Washington state to win a Super Bowl.
