It’s one of the most anticipated events in American political history – the first debate between presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

Here’s a quick look at Monday’s presidential debate.
Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton will meet in New York for the first of three debates scheduled for the next few weeks.
The first debate will be divided into six 15-minute segments. The moderator will open each segment with a question, after which each candidate will have two minutes to respond. Candidates will then have an opportunity to respond to each other. The moderator will use the balance of the time in the segment for a deeper discussion of the topic.
The topics will include "America’s Direction," "Achieving Prosperity" and "Securing America," in that order.
No, the Libertarian candidate, Gary Johnson, and the Green Party candidate, Jill Stein, failed to qualify for a spot on the debate stage.
Here’s what to know about the gubernatorial race.
Governor Jay Inslee and Republican challenger Bill Bryant will face-off at Seattle University.
Diane Douglas, executive director at Seattle CityClub, led the team that conceived and developed the Washington State Debate Coalition, which is holding tonight's debate.
Douglas told KIRO 7 News that topics will be on gun violence, education, health care, transportation, and other issues that confront the state in the next four years.
