Deputies search for hit-and-run driver that killed Burien man

BURIEN, Wash. — King County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help locating a black Honda SUV that was involved in a hit-and-run collision that killed a Burien man this weekend.

Conlan Anderson, 23, was walking home around 3:45 Saturday morning on the 12400 Block of First Avenue South when he was hit and killed.

A man driving in the area found the victim lying next to the roadway and called 911.

Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene.

“It's been like a living hell,” Natseeri Puttavon said. “It hurts every single moment.”

Puttavon is still in shock.She dropped off a flower at Anderson’s memorial, on an overpass near where he died, but she still can’t believe her childhood friend, and first love, is gone.

“He just wanted to make people happy,” Puttavon explained. “He was genuinely a good part of this world . It’s a darker place now that he's gone.”

Detective say debris was left at the scene, including the driver’s side mirror, which indicates the suspect’s car is a black Honda SUV.

“I'm just really numb,” added Bryce Goodall.

Goodall is another longtime friend. He’s visited the scene almost every day, trying to find answers.

“It’s very upsetting,” Goodall said. “I don’t understand. How do they sleep?”

Other friends have also been calling auto body shops to find out if anyone has seen a car matching the description of the one that hit and killed Anderson.

Friends question whether Anderson’s death was truly an accident.

They urge the driver to turn him or herself in.

“I just hope they can find it in your heart to come forward,” Goodall said. “What if it was your child? Someone close to you? Wouldn’t you want justice?”

“We won’t stop until we find out who did this,” Puttavon added.
