FREDERICKSON, Wash. — A man who allegedly stabbed another man to death in a Frederickson gas station parking lot on Monday was reportedly turned in by his own grandmother.
The Pierce County Sheriff responded to reports of a fight in the parking lot of the Canyon Road Gas & Deli just before 12 a.m. March 6 when they found a black Acura Integra in the parking lot with both doors open. The driver was found laying on the ground next to the driver’s side door with a stab wound.

The Pierce County medical examiner has identified the victim as 18-year-old Edward Anthony Long II.
Several witnesses told police they saw the black Acura Integra driving in circles in reverse in the gas station parking lot, according to Pierce County. One person tried to get into the car to stop it and discovered the driver was hurt. The witness told deputies they pulled the victim out of the car, saw his stab wounds and called police.
While medics tried to save his life, a deputy located a black plastic knife handle a short distance away.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene in another car.
Just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, a woman called police to report that her 20-year-old grandson just got home and told her he got in a fight with another man at a gas station, according to Pierce County. She said her grandson stabbed someone and put him on the phone with the dispatcher until police arrived.
When deputies arrived at the home on 161st St. Ct. E., the man met them at the front door and was arrested without incident.
The man has not been identified yet. He has been booked into Pierce County Jail for second-degree murder.
