A woman died after her car crashed into a tree in Kent near East Valley Highway.
When police arrived around 2 p.m. on Thursday, they found the woman pinned inside of the car. Smoke was coming from the engine.
Firefighters pulled her from the wreck and attempted to stabilize her, but their lifesaving efforts were not successful.
The wreck did not cause any other injuries.

Kent police traffic investigators are currently working to determine the circumstances that contributed to the collision.
The investigation is still underway at South 200th Street, and lane restrictions will impact the evening commute through that area.
