Man killed in Sammamish park identified as son of Seattle police officer

SAMMAMISH, Wash. — Friends confirm the man run over and killed Wednesday afternoon at Beaver Lake Park in Sammamish was Moises Radcliffe.

Radcliffe, who is the son of a Seattle Police Officer, was at the park with his dog and his girlfriend. Mo Radcliffe graduated from Issaquah High School.

Friends say Radcliffe, 22, always found the best in everyone and loved his dog, Blu.

Police are still looking for the suspects who they say ran over and killed Radcliffe after he found them by his car in the parking lot at Beaver Lake Park.

According to investigators, Radcliffe saw the suspects prowling his car. When he confronted them, they ran and got into a small gold SUV. Investigators say the car prowlers were driving toward Radcliffe. According to detectives Radcliffe was armed and fired at the SUV in self-defense as it was driving toward him. The car prowlers ran over Radclife and killed him.

Friends brought flowers to the park and left candles. They say Radcliffe was sweet, determined, and wouldn't hurt anybody.

When they heard the victim was the son of a Seattle Police officer, they instantly worried it could be Mo.

The Radcliffe family has asked for privacy.

On Thursday night, the city of Snohomish announced a $2,000 reward is being offered for any information on the incident. Crimestoppers is offering $1,000, and Dave Rose of Washington's Most Wanted is also offering $1,000. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-222-TIPS.

ORIGINAL TEXT: The son of a veteran Seattle police officer was ran over and killed after confronting a car prowler Wednesday at a Sammamish park, police said.

Authorities responded to a report of a shooting at Beaver Lake Park in the 2500 block of 244th Avenue Southeast at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Deputies said a man and his girlfriend were walking their dog when they found a person breaking into their vehicle.

The man ran to his car and confronted the suspect.

According to deputies, the suspect got into a tan or gold SUV and and the vehicle tried to run him over. The man then started shooting at the suspect and vehicle.

Deputies said the suspect vehicle ran over the man after shots were fired. The man died at the scene.

The suspect then fled the scene in the vehicle. It is unknown how many suspects are involved.

On Wednesday night, Seattle police said the victim was the son of a Seattle police officer.

Beaver Lake ball fields were closed due to the investigation.
