Valentine's Day love for homeless animals headed to Pacific Northwest

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — On Valentine’s Day, love will go out to homeless animals arriving from Merced, California.

Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) in Lynnwood, along with other rescue partners, will receive 60 cats, kittens, dogs and puppies.

The animals will be coming from overcrowded shelters that might otherwise euthanize them.

The Pacific Northwest is reported to have many shelters that can accommodate adoptable animals.

The dogs and cats are expected to arrive at 2:30 p.m. at Paine Field in Everett.

The animals will fly in on Pak West 730 and can be tracked at www.flightware.com.

Some of the pets will be available for adoption on Saturday, at PAWS in Lynnwood and PAWS Cat City in Seattle.

Those not old enough for adoption will be placed in foster homes until they are old enough to be adopted.

The animals will receive medical and behavior evaluations once they arrive.
