A video shot by ferry passenger Jeremy Ridgway shows the moment when waves caused cars on a Washington state ferry to collide with each other Sunday morning.
Ridway's video shows a massive wave hit the car deck near the front of the 11:05 a.m. ferry traveling from Friday Harbor to Anacortes.
In the video, a passenger can be heard saying, "Oh my god. I'm not okay with this."
Ridway told KIRO 7 about filming the waves, and said:
"We were on the way back to Anacortes from Friday Harbor on the 11:05 boat. I saw how big the waves were getting and started filming. That is when the mist came over the front of the boat. I was trying to turn the wipers on when the large wave hit. That's when I noticed that the car in front and to the left had been pushed back into the car next me. The car in front of me moved back about 3 feet, and barely hit my bumper. There was more spray coming over the rest of the trip, but not another wave."
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
This is a developing story. Stay with KIRO 7 for ongoing updates.
