ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Washington State Patrol officials said Thursday one person died after a vehicle crashed and caught fire on westbound I-90 near milepost 18.
The vehicle was burning in the median of I-90 near 256th Avenue SE, close to Issaquah, around 12:15 p.m.
Fire officials said at 12:30 p.m. there was a report of a person trapped in the car.
Washington State Patrol officials confirmed one person died in the incident Thursday afternoon.
The vehicle fire resulted in an active brush fire in the area.
Fire crews were working to extinguish the brush fire around 12:45 p.m.
Two lanes in both directions on I-90 were blocked around 1 p.m. All lanes had reopened by 2:20 p.m.
