MONROE, Wash. — A head-on collision in Monroe Sunday sent multiple people to the hospital, authorities said.
According to the Monroe Police Department, a driver crossed the center lane of SR 2 on State Route 522 and hit a car in the opposite lane.
The car that was hit had a baby inside.
The baby was taken to the hospital. The extent of the baby’s injuries are unknown.
A driver and two other adults were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities said SR 2 at 522 should reopen Sunday night.
It is unclear if alcohol was a factor in the collision.
A chocolate lab named Zaley that was in one of the cars involved in the crash ran from the scene and was missing.
A viewer who answered a post about the dog on the KIRO 7 Facebook page Monday morning said Monroe police had picked up the dog, which was found sitting in front of a pet food store not far from the crash scene.
Monroe police confirmed the dog was the animal that had been missing and said the owner was on the way to retrieve the pet.
