Teens arrested after school, cars vandalized in Marysville

MARYSVILLE, Wash. — Three teenagers were taken into custody Sunday in connection with vandalism at a Marysville school and graffiti spray-painted on cars.

Police say the teens broke windows on portable classrooms and set a dumpster fire at Cedarcrest Middle School.

Investigators say that shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday, they received a call about a group of teens spray-painting cars and stealing packages at homes near Kellogg Marsh Elementary.

While officers were responding to that call and searching for the teens, a silent alarm was triggered at Cedarcrest Middle School, which is only a few blocks away from Kellogg Marsh.

Police arrived to find broken windows and a fire in a dumpster.

The teens were later taken into custody by officers.

The teens, two boys and a girl, were booked on suspicion of malicious mischief.

The school district said repairs will be made at Cedarcrest.
