MILL CREEK, Wash. — Mill Creek police say a man posing as a delivery person stole two packages from the front porch of a home last month.
It happened in the 2300 block of 145th Street Southeast on the afternoon of Jan. 26.
The owners have a camera embedded in their doorbell that captured the entire incident on video.
Surveillance video shows the man carrying what turned out to be an empty package up to the porch. He dropped off the empty package and then picked up a package that had previously been delivered. He carries it to his vehicle and then makes a second trip to the porch to pick up another large package, which he also carries to his vehicle.
"This individual was so confident in his cover that he performed the theft while residents were outside their homes nearby," said Mill Creek Detective Sergeant Stan White.
The man is white, about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs between 180 and 200 pounds. He has brown hair, and is estimated to be between 35 and 40 years old. He was seen pulling away in a small blue SUV.
Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to contact Mill Creek Police Investigations with information or tips at investigations@cityofmillcreek.com or by phone at 425-337-1115.
