Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos had to be airlifted from a cruise ship near the Galapagos Islands because of a kidney stone attack.

Bezos was airlifted by the Ecuadorian Navy on New Year's Day. He was then loaded onto his private jet and taken back to the U.S. for emergency treatment.

Bezos  is now recovering from the surgery.

On Saturday afternoon, Bezos told KIRO 7 that he is doing fine and said in a statement, "Galapagos: five stars. Kidney stones: zero stars."
