Seattle detectives find car in hit-and-run of 7-year-old girl

Police say the 7-year-old was in the crosswalk when she was struck by two cars.

SEATTLE — Seattle police detectives have found and impounded the red Chevy Tahoe believed to be involved in the hit-and-run that badly injured a 7-year-old girl as she crossed the street.

The driver is still at large.

The girl was struck in a crosswalk in the Rainier Valley Tuesday evening.  The SUV fled the scene.

Investigators are still asking for tips from anyone who may have information about the person driving the SUV when the girl was hit at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. and S. Genessee St. just after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Those with information are asked to call traffic collision investigators at 206-684-8923.
The girl remains in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
