100 pairs of shoes found on I-90, donated

Did you drop some shoes? Like 100 pairs? In boxes?

An Ecology Youth Corps litter crew found them along Interstate 90, east of North Bend, according to the state Department of Ecology.

They appear to be new.

The crew was going to take them to a thrift shop to be donated, but then the state DOE decided it wanted to connect with a nonprofit that could get the shoes to people in need.

The shoes ended up going to Mary's Place, which helps homeless women, children and families in need.

"Thrilled @MarysPlaceWA could use ~100 pairs of new shoes found this morning along I-90!" wrote Larry Altose with the Wash. Dept. of Ecology over Twitter.
