AUBURN, Wash. — Auburn police responded to a report of an armed male suspect entering an occupied residence about 12:25 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of 23rd Street Southeast.
As officers arrived in the area, the intruder fled the residence on foot.
A responding officer located the suspect in the intersection of 21st and D Street Southeast, at which point the suspect attempted to force his way into an occupied vehicle.
The officer engaged the suspect and fired his weapon, striking the suspect, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect has not yet been positively identified. Neither the victims or the officer were injured.
