An armed robbery suspect led police on a high-speed chase that ended when he crashed into Puyallup school bus.
The chase started Friday morning when the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office saw a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred at a Pierce County gas station eight days ago.
The suspect's Nissan was spotted in Puyallup and the pursuit began on East Pioneer, went onto Shaw Road to 23rd Avenue Southeast where the suspect drove into the South Hill Mall parking lot.
After speeding around the mall and getting onto 39th Avenue Southeast, the fleeing driver lost control and hit a school bus. No children were on board.
The driver ran away and was captured by a deputy.

In all, the driver caused two crashes and hit a pedestrian in what police described as a “very high speed” chase.
The pedestrian was treated at the police station and will be fine.
Scott Engle with Puyallup police said the driver exhibited “extremely dangerous” behavior.
“We were very, very fortunate no citizen or officer was hurt,” said Engle.
The pursuit lasted 10 to 20 minutes and covered at least 10 miles.
