CHEHALIS, Wash. — Southbound I-5 in Chehalis has reopened after it was closed for six hours after a three-vehicle crash involving a semi.
The crash, which involved involves two cars and a semi, happened shortly around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
The Washington State Patrol said the semi was heading northbound when it crossed over the center barrier and rolled into the southbound lanes.
The semi driver was airlifted and I-5 is closed at milepost 79.
Traffic was detoured at Chamber Way.
Shortly before 10 a.m., troopers said it would be hours before the freeway would be back open and a crane may have to be brought in to remove the semi.
The freeway reopened shortly before 1:30 p.m.
