Drivers will need to plan ahead this weekend for another closure of the SR 520 Bridge as crews prepare for the historic opening of the new bridge's westbound lanes on Monday.
Starting at 11 p.m. Friday, crews will shut down traffic on the old bridge from Montlake Boulevard in Seattle to 92nd Avenue on the Eastside.
The bridge will reopen at 5 a.m. on Monday.
Workers will use the time to pave, stripe lanes and move barriers as they get ready to open the new floating bridge's westbound lanes to traffic.
Drivers going eastbound will have to use the existing bridge for another two weeks before it's permanently transitioned to the new bridge on April 25.
