Former Massachusetts governor and two-time Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney tweeted for the first time in months on Wednesday, giving a nod to Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and his running mate, Bill Weld.

While this may not be an official endorsement of Johnson as a candidate, it certainly indicates that Romney isn't pleased with Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump as candidates and would like to see an alternative.
"If Bill Weld were at the top of the ticket, it would be very easy for me to vote for Bill Weld for president," Romney told CNN in June. "So I'll get to know Gary Johnson better and see if he's someone who I could end up voting for. That's something which I'll evaluate over the coming weeks and months."
Weld is also a former Massachusetts governor.
In order for Romney to get his wish and see Johnson on the debate stage next to Clinton and Trump, the Libertarian Party needs to reach 15 percent in national polls.
