WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — One person was killed when a single-engine plane crashed Tuesday in the backyard of a west-central Florida home, authorities said.
The Beechcraft plane crashed into the backyard of a home in Wesley Chapel, located northeast of Tampa, WTSP reported. According to Pasco County Fire Rescue, the crash occurred around 11:30 a.m., the television station reported.
The crash resulted in a grass fire, which also engulfed a portion of the fence on the property, WTVT reported.

Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration were headed to the site of the crash, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
Nobody in the house was injured, deputies said.
