If you’ve had difficulty picking up a prescription at CVS over the last couple days, you’re not alone.
The pharmacy chain acknowledges that their internal system for processing insurance claims has gone haywire.
Some of our pharmacies are experiencing system connectivity interruptions that we are actively working to resolve. Our pharmacies can continue filling prescriptions during this period. We apologize for the inconvenience.

That’s prompted pharmacists to have to turn away customers — some of whom require life-saving medications.
Here’s a look at the way this story has blown up on Twitter over the last 48 hours.

CVS pharmacy’s computer system snafu
Reports of problems with the system started turning up November 13 on Twitter.
That forced some customers who had insurance to pay cash out of pocket for their scrips.
If you're wondering what's going on with Kaiser, my prescription "disappeared" from their system AGAIN. There is literally nothing I can do to get them to give it to me. I am going to have to pay for it out of pocket at CVS so i don't die. It's like I don't even have insurance.

In frustration, others reported taking their Rxs to competitors including Walgreens.
Was just told by CVS Pharma in Folsom CA they cannot fill any Rx. Switched to Walgreens to fill Rx needed.

Meanwhile, as the time passed, the story got weirder and weirder. This one is definitely in the stranger things category…
@cvspharmacy how is it you are leaving prescrip refill ready messages on my FB friend’s mobile voxmail 4me? What shady data thing going on?

Clark.com reached out to the CVS media relations department on late Wednesday afternoon for an update on the outage, but did not hear back by press time.
Keep this mind
Despite the snafu, it’s best if you can keep your cool when you’re talking to the CVS pharmacists. They’re doing the best they can to help you at a difficult time.
Hopefully this whole issue will clear up soon!
