1. Hindu festival. CRY Seattle Holi. Mar. 7 starting at noon. Celebrate CRY (Child Rights and You) and the joy of childhood at the Bellevue downtown park celebration. There will be a live DJ set, and colors for purchase to throw in celebration of Holi, the popular Hindu festival, commonly known as the Festival of Colors. 2. Seafood by the water. Penn Cove Musselfest! March 6-8 at the Coupeville Recreation Hall, Coupeville. Tickets on sale at 10 a.m., tasting starts at 11 a.m. Enjoy the taste of the sea with local seafood delicatessens to try from. At the Musselfest, you’ll get to sample mussels, chowder, beer and much more from local Washington vendors. There are four tickets to choose from and with each separate ticket is a selection of local vendors and their menu items to sample, including local breweries, oyerstercatchers, and bakeries. 3. Holiday fun run. St. Patrick’s Day 5K. Titlow Park, Tacoma. Sat, March. 7 starting at 9 a.m. If you’re looking to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day early in the South Sound, the 5K fun run is perfect for you. Wear green and join fellow runners, joggers and walkers at Titlow Park in Tacoma. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. day-of on the baseball field next to the Titlow Lodge, and the race starts at 9 a.m. Online registration does closes March 5 at midnight, and registration fees include a race t-shirt. 4. Celtic music. Coastal Celtic Music Festival. Crown Alley Irish Pub, Ocean Park/ Long Beach. Mar. 6-8 starting at 5 p.m. It’s March and that means Irish Heritage month celebrations are in full swing! If you’re looking for a beautiful destination and Celtic celebrations, the Coastal Celtic music festival is a great destination, featuring over a dozen live bands performing during the three-day festival. 5. Outdoor enthusiast. Seattle Bike and Outdoor Show. Mar. 7-8, Sat. 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Sun. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at CenturyLink Field Event Center. Summer is almost here and that means much more sunny days. But even rainy days don’t stop Seattleites from commuting via bicycle. Bike enthusiasts can check out, demo and purchase a new bike at the Seattle show this weekend, where over 70 exhibitors will be on-site, showcasing new and popular products for this year. All new attractions this year includes the Bike MFG Test Ride Line with 20+ bikes in the line, plus BMX stunt team performances, a kids bike ride zone, main stage presenters and so much more. 6. Young filmmakers. Children’s Film Festival Seattle. Northwest Film Forum and Rainier Arts Center. Feb. 27-March 8. Since 2005, the CFFS has become the largest film festival dedicated to young filmmakers on the West Coast. Children ages 3-14 can enter in their cinematic masterpieces for over 10,000 people to see. Films include work by kids from 20-25 U.S. cities, including animation, short and feature length films, and hands-on workshops at the film festival. Over 175 films will be shown with over 44 countries representing work. Highlights include cat-centered animations, a Q& A from filmmakers around the world and Rainbow Roar, a shorts program dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ youth. 7. Children’s theater. Seattle Children’s Theatre presents “Snow White”. Charlotte Martin Theatre. Feb. 6-9, 15-16, 22-23, Feb. 29-Mar.1, 7-8, 14-15. Various show times. The classic fairy tale tells the story of two teenagers finding each other deep in the forest, where they encounter an evil queen, during her journey. Snow White befriends seven dwarfs and redefines her true ambitions in life.
