Thank you for your life-saving donations to the KIRO 7 Cares Day of Giving, benefitting The Max Foundation. Your gift will help provide more patients with life-saving cancer treatment.
Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for 1 in 6 deaths globally, with approximately 70% of those cancer deaths occurring in low and middle-income countries.
The Max Foundation believes everyone should have access to life-saving cancer treatments, no matter where they live.
The Max Foundation was co-founded by Pat Garcia-Gonzalez to honor her stepson Max, (Maximiliano Rivarola), who is the namesake for The Max Foundation. Max was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia as a teen, and his family travelled from Argentina to the US to access cancer treatment. Sadly, Max passed away, but he inspired the organization and their work to accelerate health equity, one patient at a time.
Currently, The Max Foundation is based in Seattle, WA, but operates globally in 5 regions: Africa & the Middle East, Latin America, South Asia, Asia Pacific, and Eastern Europe & Central Asia. Their goal is to double the number of new patients they treat by 2026, and to expand their support to 85 countries in total. Currently, The Max Foundation Reaches 7 new patients a day, or 2,500 new patients per year.
You can still give to The Max Foundation. Text MAXDAYOFGIVING to ( 325 ) 603-3395 for more information on how to donate. Message and data rates may apply. You can also donate right now at The Max Foundation’s website at this link.
