12th man flag missing in Monroe

MONROE, Wash. — Shawn Pettibone wears a 12th man sweatshirt. He's got a Seahawks decal on his pickup, and blue lights around his front door.

What's missing is the 12th man flag that flew proudly from his garage. Pettibone said he, "came out this morning and noticed it was gone."

It disappeared from a residential neighborhood in Monroe where you can find blue and green on just about every block. The three by five flag was given to Pettibone by his mother four years ago.

He said, "the first thing I thought was well, somebody that didn't have a flag has a flag now, and hopefully they support it."

Pettibone may not be alone. He's heard of other flag thefts in Monroe. He thinks it may be because local stores are sold out and frenzied fans are just helping themselves to something they can't buy.

The official flag distributor for the team said it's working overtime to ship out flags as soon as they come in from the manufacturer. Pettibone said he's very disappointed, because he knows right now, you can't find a Seahawk flag anywhere.
