Issaquah girl investigated for prostitution, police looking for 'Johns'

ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Issaquah police detectives are trying to identify and locate dozens of men who may have been the clients of a 15-year-old suburban prostitute.

The investigation started in September when an Issaquah mother found images of her teenage daughter in the shower along with sexually explicit text messages on the girl’s iPhone.

According to police documents that were made public just this week, the mother also found that her daughter had been selling her used underwear on Craigslist through two Google Gmail accounts, and that the girl often met with the male buyers to exchange the underwear for money.

Issaquah police Commander Stan Conrad called it very dangerous behavior.

“I would just emphasize, you don’t know who you’re meeting up with” and what their motives are, he told KIRO 7 Reporter Amy Clancy.

The police documents indicate the girl was in contact with at least 35 men and "had sent naked photographs of herself to many" of them.

Detectives believe the girl may also have "engaged in prostitution" with the men, which is why the investigation hopes to uncover who they are.  If identified, they could be charged with multiple felonies, including rape of a child, dealing in depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, communication with a minor for immoral purposes, trafficking and more.

Commander Conrad declined to comment on whether the 15-year-old girl will be arrested, but the police documents reveal she could be charged with creating and sending child pornography.
