TENINO, Wash. — When Brittney Anderson left her apartment to do laundry, she found a python at her feet.
“I probably screamed like a 3-year-old,” said Anderson. “At the moment I was like, it’s gonna attack someone and someone’s gonna get hurt, and it’s probably a little kid."
This all happened Tuesday night.
The python hissed at her and she jumped back. She called her uncle, Lonnie Anderson, who came over and picked up the python by hand.
“Neat animal, it could kill ya or just lay there,” said Lonnie Anderson Wednesday. He is now keeping the snake in a Styrofoam cooler with holes he poked in the cooler so the snake can breathe.
The Andersons said the snake probably would have frozen to death if it wasn’t for their rescue.
Animal Control has promised to send someone on Thursday to check out the snake.
The Andersons hope the snake’s owner will come forward.
