6-month anniversary for deadly Oso landslide

OSO, Wash. — Monday marks six months since a deadly landslide struck the community of Oso, killing 43 people.

Transportation officials hoped to have State Route 530, which was buried by the slide, reopen to two-way, full-speed traffic Monday, but rain over the weekend delayed paving and striping work.

The opening has been pushed back to Tuesday, weather permitting.

Monday also marks two months since the last victim was pulled from the rubble.

Kris Regelbrugge was found after neighbors continued to look for her body four months after the landslide hit.
