SEATTLE — If you’re wondering about what progress is being made inside the SR 99 tunnel now that Bertha is gone, drone video from the Washington State Department of Transportation shows you.
The video shot in late September takes a trip from the tunnel’s north end, near the Space Needle, to the south end, near the stadiums.

The two-minute video shows two miles of continuing construction.
WSDOT says as the drone moves south, a view of a more completed tunnel can be seen. The foundations of the road and walls are complete and the top deck of the double deck road is more than 85 percent complete.

WSDOT says next month, Seattle Tunnel Partners plans to start bringing in prefabricated road panels made in Tacoma that will be assembled to create the lower road.
