Case dismissed against councilwoman Sawant, arrested for disorderly conduct in protest

Seattle City Councilwoman Kshama Sawant was arrested at a protest for a $15 an hour minimum wage.

SEATTLE — A judge dismissed a case on Friday against Kshama Sawant, who was arrested in a protest and charge of disorderly conduct last November.

Police took Sawant into custody when traffic was blocked on Highway 99.

They were protesting the Alaska Airlines lawsuit that has held up implementation of a $15-an-hour minimum wage at the airport.

According to reports, the prosecution says it will appeal.
