Centralia High School locked down after threatening note

Centralia High School was locked down after a resource officer found a threatening note in a classroom, the school district says.

CHS and law enforcement moved the students from school classroom by classroom, but they were safe.

Investigators found no weapons on campus as of 1 p.m.

A resource officer was notified of a note around 10 a.m. Located in a classroom,  the note stated a student was planning on killing people during a school assembly.

Local law enforcement was called immediately.

"We are releasing over 1,000 students and want to ensure the safety of all students during this process," the district and local law enforcement wrote in a statement. “Students can ride the bus or be picked up by parents. Parents may wait at Centralia Community Church of God, located at Borst and Eshom

Several law enforcement agencies are at the school.

The assembly was scheduled for Friday afternoon. Friday's homecoming game has been postponed.
