FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A Federal Way, Washington, man is accused of molesting a girl who was a passenger in his church bus.
According to charging documents, Oscar Raul Lopez, 57, worked at Bethel Christian Church. Lopez drove children from the church day care to school.
Investigators say Lopez molested a 6-year-old girl when no one else was on the bus. The girl said she was molested five times.
Lopez is charged with first degree child molestation. He’s in jail at the Regional Justice Center with bail set at $250,000.
Parents of children who attend the church day care were sent a letter on June 18th saying Lopez passed a background check. The letter also said he has been placed on administrative leave until the police investigation is finalized.
Investigators say Lopez worked at the church for five years. He also lived in a house on church property. Police are concerned there could be more victims.
No one affiliated with the church was willing to talk to KIRO 7 on Friday.
