TENINO, Wash. — Firefighters controlled a brush fire Sunday afternoon in Tenino.
The High Valley Lane brush fire raced through a couple of acres of land.
According to investigators, the fire started when a legal burn got out of control and east winds helped fuel the fire.
Responding ground and air crews were able to control the fire.
Investigators told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that three homes were in danger, but are no longer in danger.
“Yeah, there are nice ones up on the hill, and there’s a lot that could get involved if they don’t get it contained,’ said Tenino resident Peggy Haase.
Crews remained at the scene to douse hot spots.
