Deputies search for armed robbery suspect in Everett

EVERETT, Wash. — Deputies are searching for a man after an armed robbery Saturday afternoon in Everett.

Snohomish County deputies were called at 1:20 p.m. to an armed robbery at the Home Depot at 11915 Highway 99.

Investigators said a 50-year-old man was robbed behind the store and hit in the arm with a hatchet. The man had non-life-threatening injuries to his head and arm and was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center.

Deputies said there were three people involved in the robbery, but deputies were searching for the main suspect who hit the man with the hatchet.

The victim’s phone and money were stolen before the suspects fled to a nearby homeless camp, deputies said.

Deputies said the man with the hatchet was 51-year-old Jose D. Navarro-Padilla and is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and 150 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans and a blue jacket. Navarro-Padilla should be considered armed and dangerous.

The other suspects are described as white men in their 30s, deputies said. They were wearing dark clothing.

Authorities said they are looking to arrest Navarro-Padilla for first-degree assault and first-degree robbery.

Anyone with information on Navarro-Padilla’s whereabouts or the other two suspects is asked to call 911 or the Sheriff’s Office at 425-388-3845.
