Man whose lynx attacked his girlfriend fined $1,000

BELLEVUE, Washington — The owner of a lynx that escaped and attacked the man's girlfriend in Bellevue last month will have to pay a $1,000 fine.

Police said Hadden Hoppert could still face criminal charges.

Animal control agents told KIRO 7 Hoppert won’t get his lynx back, either, since harboring an exotic animal is against Bellevue city and King County codes.

The lynx will go to a wildlife rescue organization.

The woman was not seriously hurt.
