REDMOND, Wash. — A Redmond police officer who was responding to a call of an assault in progress Saturday afternoon was involved in a crash with another car, officials said.
Officials with the Redmond Police Department said the crash happened before 4 p.m. at Willows Road and Northeast 90th Street.
The officer had lights and sirens on while responding to the call, officials said.
Both the officer and the other driver were taken to a local hospital to be checked out and were released.
In a tweet from Redmond police, the patrol car appeared to show significant front-end damage.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
