Firefighters battle Monroe house fire

MONROE, WA — Firefighters responded to a house fire on 167th Ave SE outside of the City of Monroe at 11:55 p.m. last night. Crews could see the fire from a distance and by the time they arrived the house was engulfed in flames. Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue confirm no one was inside the home at the time.

Firefighters from Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue, Sultan Fire District 5, Duvall Fire, and Snohomish Fire District 4 worked to extinguish the fire and check for hotspots. No fire hydrants were nearby so crews laid out over 1,000 feet of hose down the driveway. Multiple water tenders were used for water supply.

One firefighter was transported to a local hospital but did not sustain any injuries.

The Snohomish County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
