Fishing boat capsizes on Lake Meridian, two men rescued

KENT, Wash. — Two men were rescued after their fiberglass fishing boat sank on Lake Meridian.

The boat capsized around 150 feet from the shore -- on Monday morning.

Police responded to the incident at around 8:50 in the morning -- after receiving multiple reports of men in the cold waters of the lake.

The men had already made it to a private nearby dock by the time officials arrived.

According to officials, the two were trapped for several seconds after the boat flipped.

Happily, they were able to make it once again to the surface, without injury.

The boat was towed back to the public boat launch.
