Jared Fogle, the former Subway pitchman convicted of having sex with minors, is off to a rough beginning of a 16-year stint at a Colorado prison.
According to TMZ, the veteran sandwich spokesman was assaulted on the recreation yard at Englewood prison in late January.
Steven Nigg, the inmate accused of assaulting Fogle, is reportedly in prison on weapons charges. Nigg, 60, was placed in solitary confinement following the incident.
Nigg’s family reportedly told TMZ the inmate is angry because he is housed with many child sex predators.
According to the report, Fogle was left with a bloody nose, swollen face and scratches on his neck.
