Walla Walla, Wash. — Gary Ridgeway has been transferred back to Washington from a penitentiary in Colorado.
According to the Washington Department of Corrections, Ridgeway – the “Green River killer” – was “safety and securely transferred back to Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla.”
Law enforcement officials, local leaders and victim’s families spoke out against Ridgeway’s initial transfer.
Ridgway was convicted of killing 49 women in the 1980s and 1990s.
