Jurors visit re-created Carnation crime scene

On Monday morning prosecutors brought the jury to the first floor of the King County Courthouse where the bloody furniture was set up exactly as it was in the Anderson home on Christmas Eve 2007 in Carnation.

Jurors had a front-row seat of the re-created Carnation murder scene.

On Monday morning prosecutors brought the jury to the first floor of the King County Courthouse where the bloody furniture was set up exactly as it was in the Anderson home on Christmas Eve 2007 in Carnation.

Michele Anderson is accused of murdering six members of her family. Four of them were shot as they sat in the living room. The bloody couch, drapes, and TV were positioned on a photograph of the bloody floor.

Crime scene expert Ross Gardner did a play by play of the horrific shooting.  He described where the victims were sitting, how they were shot and where they died.

When the prosecutor asked Gardner about how 5-year-old Olivia was shot in the back of the head, he choked up.

"I need a second sir," said Ross Gardner, trying to speak, "My apologies, my business is to put my humanity away. I normally can do that pretty good and sometimes it grabs you by the neck and wrings you."

Minutes later the court took a break for lunch.

During the testimony Michele Anderson slumped over in her chair with her head down. Once the jury walked out, she sat up and looked around.

The defense will begin presenting tomorrow. It is still unclear if Michele Anderson will testify in her own defense.

KIRO 7 plans to be in the courtroom.
