KIRO 7's Julie Francavilla, Sam Argier, and the Family Connection partners help March of Dimes raise over $500,000

May 5, 2012 — Under the shadow of the Space Needle, KIRO 7's anchor Julie Francavilla, meteorologist Sam Argier, and the Family Connection partners Brotherton Cadillac Buick GMC, Big Fish Games, and Northwest Center marched for babies this past weekend to benefit March of Dimes.

Joined by 3,500 walkers, the event raised over $500,000 to help support babies and their mothers in Western Washington.

"I think every walker felt the energy of Seattle's March for Babies with each step they took today!" said Francavilla. "As we walked together from the heart of Seattle Center, we stepped out to help our community's youngest and most vulnerable citizens of today and tomorrow. I'm personally proud that KIRO 7 is dedicated to this very important cause."

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

You can help March of Dimes by joining KIRO 7's Anchor-Reporter Michelle Millman and the Family Connection team this Saturday, May 12th, at Wilson High School in Tacoma to walk and raise awareness for this cause. To register or donate please visit: www.kirotv.com/familyconnection.
