Lacey school vandalized with graffiti

LACEY, Wash. — A Lacey elementary school that had been recently repainted was vandalized with graffiti early Wednesday.

Police say security footage showed two boys spray painting "WCB" and "BLOODS" around Lydia Hawk Elementary School’s main building and several outbuildings between 1:47 a.m. and 1:51 a.m.

The words were scrawled on exterior walls, doors and door glass.

Three enclosure boxes for security cameras were also spray painted to cover up the camera.  All the graffiti was done with black spray paint.

The school had just been repainted in preparation for the new school year.

Police said the quality and clarity of the security camera footage was poor and investigators were unable to identify the suspects.

It is estimated that it will cost about $1,000 in supplies and labor to repaint the 11 vandalized places and about $500 to replace the three vandalized enclosure boxes.

Thurston County sheriff’s deputies are investigating.
